Whitney Houston’s family and closest friends have gathered at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey for her private funeral service.
Hollywood and Music Industry top celebrities have made appearances like Tyler Perry, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Kim Burrell, T.D Jakes and Kevin Cosner with guests such as Alicia Keys, Clive Davis, Dionne Warwick, and Stevie Wonder expected to hit the stage.
Whitney Houston’s “Bodyguard” co-star Kevin Costner (see above) and mentor Clive Davis (see below) were among those who gave touching speeches during her funeral service this afternoon.
Whitney’s cousin, Dionne Warwick, also gave a moving tribute (see it here).
While Houston’s service was moving, it wasn’t without some controversy. As we previously reported, Bobby Brown left the service after just a short time after a disagreement with Whitney’s family. We’re told they objected to Bobby bringing a nine-person entourage with him.
Alicia Keys, R. Kelly and Stevie Wonder were among the performers who sung in Whitney’s honor.
RIP Whitney.

Bobbi Brown was spotted at the funeral with his kids, however, after 20 minutes, he left the church. (Some reports claim he was asked to leave, others say that he was too grief-stricken to stay). Rev Al Sharpton (or his people tweeted shortly afterward) “I am at Whitney’s funeral. I spoke w/ Bobby . trying to calm him down & not distract from the services. Today is about Whitney”.

Aretha Franklin was scheduled to appear but had to miss the service due to illness.
